joy, which will be to the entire world. This day is born to you in the city of David,
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this is a sign for you: You will find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
The shepherds spoke to one another, saying, let us go to Bethlehem of Judea
and see this thing that has happened as the Lord has shown to us. They came
straightway and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lain in the manger. When
they saw him, they made known the word which was spoken to them concerning
the boy. All who heard it were amazed at the things which were spoken by the
shepherds. But Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had seen
and heard, as it was spoken to them.
When they had done everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to
Galilee to their own city Nazareth. The boy grew and became strong in spirit,
filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.

                                             Wise Men infant boy, Nazareth

When they had heard from the Herod the king, they went away. The same star
that they had seen in the east was going before them, until it came and stood just
above the place where the infant boy was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced
exceedingly. They entered the house, and they saw the infant boy with Mary, his
mother; and they threw themselves down and worshipped him; and they opened
their treasures and offered to him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. They
were told in a dream not to return to Herod, so they departed to their own country
                   by another way.

                                                       Flee to Egypt

When they had gone, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and said to him,
arise, take the infant boy and his mother and flee to Egypt and stay there until I
tell you. Herod is ready to demand the child so as to destroy him. Then Joseph
rose up, took the infant boy and his mother in the night and escaped to Egypt. He
remained there until the death of Herod, so that what was said from the Lord by
                   the prophet is fulfilled.

                                                    Infant boys killed

When Herod saw that he was mocked by the Magi, he was greatly enraged, so
he sent and had all the infant boys in Bethlehem and in its suburbs killed, from
