P. 37
Jesus answered and said to them I say to you that the Son can do nothing of his
own accord except what he sees the Father doing. The issues which the Father
does the same the Son does like him also for the father loves his Son and he
shows him everything that he does.
Argument 3: Jesus Is In Heaven
No man has ascended to heaven except he who came down from heaven even
the Son of man who is in heaven?
Argument 4: Son of God is in the bosom of his Father
No man has ever seen God. The first-born Son of God who is in the bosom* of
his Father he has declared him. (*Bosom: Poetic/Literary: loving care and
protection)
Argument 5: The Life Is the Light of Men
The Life was in him and the Life is the Light of men. The same light shines in the
darkness and the darkness does not overcome him.
Argument 6: Light Shone on Them
Land of Zebulon and of Naphtali the way to the sea across the Jordan Galilee of
the Gentiles! The people who dwelt in darkness saw a great Light and those who
settled in the country and in the midst of the shadows of death light shone on
them.
Argument 7: The Light of Truth
Like the wax that melts and drips before the fire let them be destroyed. Fire has
fallen from heaven and they did not perceive. The light of truth has been given
and they did not understand. Oh, send out the light of truth. Let him comfort me.
Let him bring me unto thy Holy Mountain and to thy temple.
Conclusion: He Who Sees Me Has Seen the Father
Philip said to him Our Lord show us the Father and that is enough for us. Jesus
said to him all this time I have been with you. You do not know me, Philip? He
who sees me has seen the Father? Believe that I am with my Father and my
Father is with me
Jesus cried out saying He who believes in me believes not in me but in him who
sent me.
He who sees me has already seen him who sent me. I have come into the world
as the Light so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. He who
hears my words and does not obey them I will not judge him. The words which I
have spoken will judge him at the last day. I did not speak of myself. The Father
who sent me he commanded me what to say and what to speak.
