Production Notes
STORY
The story delves into the shared memories of a brother and sister
who find themselves once more in the family home, shortly after
the death of their father . Through their
story we look at how shared memories both connect and differ,
how the imagination of our childhoods ingrains itself deeply into
our psyche and how the memories we create throughout life are
finally turned on their head when we encounter dementia and its
effect on the things that are remembered and forgotten.
PRODUCTION STYLE
The production is nonnaturalistic and physical in nature. The play
moves through time frames as we explore the memories of our
central characters. We employ puppetry and object manipulation as
a tool to help us tell the story
THEMES
The central theme in this production is memory, the places and
objects we carry with us in memory both real and imagined and
how our view of memories change when encountering dementia.
Throughout the creation of the piece, we worked with those living
with memory impairment and their experiences, some of which
have been embedded into the final performance
