Laurence Aldridge– Musical Director/Performer
Laurence trained at Bretton Hall College for the Arts, graduating in 2001. He has worked
professionally as an actor for over fifteen years. During that time
he has worked at every end of the theatre spectrum, from large
scale productions at Theatre Royal, Stratford East and Everyman
Theatre, Cheltenham to rural touring with North Country Theatre
to outdoor performance with Heartbreak Productions and site
specific work with Demi-Paradise. He has played leading
Shakespeare roles (Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Angelo
in Measure for Measure), roles in panto, including Idle Jack at The
Theatre, Chipping Norton, and everything in between. Laurence has always had a passion
for working on new writing, and since working with physical performer Cait Davis, has
developed a great interest in making theatre from scratch - a passion fuelled by a week
working with David Glass on his Acts of Revolution workshop. Laurence has also recently
been commissioned to write music for a new production of Bertolt Brecht's Mother
Courage, by Contexture Theatre.
