Sofa’ - An exploration of memory, place and the worlds we create
around us.
Performed by two actors and a puppet.
An absorbing and highly visual exploration of Memory and
'Unmemory'
The sofa is where we make new worlds as children and seek solace as
adults, a place to laugh, cry, play and discover. Join Rachel and Mark at
their old family home exploring memories of a loved one living with
dementia, and the
changing perspectives they bring to those memories.
The MakeShift Ensemble, with their distinct and compelling style, aim
to discover the effects of memory and 'unmemory’ on family
relationships . Inspired by real life events and
experiences the piece will tell the stories that sometimes go untold
with humour and pathos.

The best show I have seen. Very emotional. Touching, thoughtful and very well performed.
Incredibly powerful and a real tearjerker too! Inspirational staging with very clever physical theatre. A very
powerful play with a thought provoking message!
I saw a brilliant show at the Shoebox Theatre last night. Sofa was a fascinating evocation of memory and
meaning. Thank you for bringing us this memorable piece. It created a whole world with two performers, props
and effective sound scape. The puppetry was awesome.
I was so wowed and inspired by this incredibly clever piece of theatre! I cried, I laughed and thoroughly en-
joyed the powerful rollercoaster I was taken on! Amazing, thank you!
