Dated; 1 June 2020 – ongoing
The technical name of the virus that causes COVID19 is Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2, more commonly known
as SARS-CoV-2.
Business settings are essential for us to effectively manage our
response to Covid19 and those staff working in these settings are
providing a key role, never has cleaning and disinfecting been more
important. Some staff are understandably feeling anxious or worried
about the potential risk to their health of carrying out their usual work
activities during the Covid19 pandemic.
Whilst the Covid19 virus can cause serious illness, especially for older
/ vulnerable adults with underlying health conditions, evidence
suggests that for most they will experience a mild to moderate illness.
Whilst this is a complex and constantly changing situation, there is
enough known about the epidemiology of Covid19 to provide a risk-
based approach to support our staff in their roles.
Therefore please:
• Avoid contact with anyone with symptoms.
• Frequently wash your hands (twenty seconds.)
• Thorough cleaning and disinfection of buildings (this is what we do!)
• Maintain social distancing.
The assessment below has been developed based on the following
principles: That we will work together to ensure the safety and
reassurance of all staff and clients.
PPE will be recommended and supplied according to evidence and
assessment of clinical risk.
