Island Health provides a range of mental health and substance use programming in hospitals, in the

community and in participants’ homes. Their goal is help participants attain and maintain

independence.

Programs offered include:

• Central Access and Rapid Engagement Services (CARES)/Emergency Services

• Care in the Community includes detox, counselling, housing and more

• Psychiatric Day Hospital

• Care in Hospital

• Tertiary Care

• Consultation Services for Health Professionals

Ages: Substance Use program for adults

Provides free programming to those who are 19+ and struggling with an addiction, mental health issue

or are being affected by someone else’s substance use. Services include one on one, family and

group counselling, educational materials and referrals to appropriate services such as detox

programs.
