Education Strategies


     The following are the education strategies that could be implemented to reduce environmental
     triggers. Education strategies are intended to educate key stakeholders so that they can work
     to reduce the burden of asthma within their professional setting.

     •  Use tobacco control and outreach partners to educate asthma partners about the most up-

        to-date research and policies about smoking and e-cigarettes.

     •  Educate owners of the residential housing about the impacts of 2nd and 3rd hand smoke.
     •  Educate landlords and property managers about asthma triggers and mitigation.

     •  Provide education and resources to reduce or eliminate asthma triggers in schools,
        workplaces, and the home.                           O

     •  Educate school administration, staff and parents about the state indoor air quality rules.
     •  Educate workplaces to focus on preventing exposure of their employees to asthma triggers,

        as well as, responding to exacerbations.            H
