“STOP HUNGER NOW”
is driven by the vision of
world without hunger. Their
mission is to end hunger in our lifetime by
providing food and life changing aid to the world’s
most vulnerable and creating a global commitment
to mobilize the necessary resources.
On Saturday, July 18, 2015, Target III partnered
with the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Xi Omicron
Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. for a meal
packaging event. The goal was to fill plastic bags
with soy, rice and vegetables to provide 5,000
meals to those in need. There were over one
hundred volunteers, 15 were members of Epsilon
Gamma Omega, and in less than two hours,
volunteers were able to package more than 10,000
meals to distribute worldwide. This hands on event
was developed to make a difference and impact the
lives of those suffering from hunger both nationally
and globally. The meal packaging event is in line
with Target III’s International Program, Childhood
Hunger.
