2015 BLACK TIE SCHOLARSHIP GALA

The Black Tie Scholarship Gala is Alabama A&M University’s annual fundraising event designed to
financially help students aspiring toward higher education. The Gala provides the University an
opportunity to showcase its best and brightest scholarship recipients, while also recognizing individuals
and organizations that are leaders in their respective fields and avid AAMU supporters. This year, Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, South Eastern Region, was recognized and given an award for its donation of
$105,000 for scholarships and Legacy Lake. This year’s Black Tie Scholarship Gala took place Friday,
April 24, 2015 with entertainment provided by Grammy Award winner and Alabama A&M University’s
own Ruben Studdard.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Southern Region, hosted its 101st Southern Regional Conference in
Huntsville, AL Friday, April 17, 2015 – Sunday, April 19, 2015. They extended an invitation to each organization
affiliated with the National Pan Hellenic Council of North Alabama to participate in their opening ceremony and
Epsilon Gamma Omega happily accepted. On behalf of the Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter, our Basileus, Soror
Wilma Ruffin extended greetings and of course, members of EGO were there for support.
