The first Community Impact Day in recognition of “AKA 1908 Playgrounds Project” truly
impacted our community. The Sorors of Target IV engaged the community; Boys and Girls Club
youth and families, businesses, organizations, community partners, family members and Honey
Dos for the AKA 1908 Playgrounds Mobilization. In this issue, appreciate these great works and
help me congratulate these Sorors on their stellar service to support Alpha Kappa Alpha’s goal to
Restore, Refresh and Renew 1,908 playgrounds around the world to ensure playgrounds are
healthy and safe places for children. Target IV Vice-Chairman is Soror Brenda Chunn and the
Target IV Leads are Soror LaDonna McCann and Soror Natalie Steele.
I am humbled by the efforts of chapter members who continue to “Launch New
Dimensions” by seeking ways to enhance chapter operations by doing things better, quicker and
smarter. Our Technology Committee, led by Soror Lorraine Lacy continues to lead the way by
working in that manner. Please read the weekly EGO Update message and “click” on the first
page to input your personal data for the chapter directory. We want every chapter member in the
directory.
Sorors, we are the hardest working women in the land and we applaud “THE EGO Ivy
Informer” for capturing our activities and events in this exceptional newsletter. Relax, read and
enjoy all they have provided for our perusal.
According to Max DePree, the first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last
is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant. The reality: We, the Sorors of Epsilon
Gamma Omega Chapter provide “Service to all Mankind.” As your servant leader, I embrace
the service we render in our community. Lastly, I am appreciative, grateful, and thankful to each
of you for all you do and thank you for the opportunity to serve.
