Licensed Mental Health Professionals in Madison County to local Alpha Kappa Alpha’s official social media
flyer for our Community Impact Day for
beauty shops. Next, Sorors Tonya Briggins, Truelove Sandifer and Mental Health Awareness

“Bob” Harrison Senior Wellness & Advocacy Center located on

Pulaski Pike. Finally, a display table with the same
materials were showcased during EGO’s April Sorority

Meeting to ensure members had access to information

that will help them promote services, treatment and

support for our community. Committee members also

shared NAMI materials with University of Alabama in

Huntsville Undergraduate Members of Omicron Zeta.

Omicron Zeta Sorors placed the mental health

brochures, specifically designed for college

students, in their Student Center. Target II of Sorors Karen Turnage, Truelove Sandifer and Tonya Briggins

NAMI partnership! Wellness & Advocacy Center. The items were received by a
Harrison Center representative.

May 16, 2015, The American Cancer Society

(ACS) sponsored its annual Relay For Life event. More than 30 Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter Sorors
were in attendance for this year’s event held at John Hunt Park. The goal for AKA- Team Ego was $1000.

This year, the team was able to raise $1252.72!!! Top team members with the most monies raised were

Sorors Daphne Thurman, Truelove Sandifer, LaDonna McCann and Carol Woods! Each of these Sorors

has or will receive a t-shirt for meeting the $100 donation mark designated by ACS. Soror Daphne

Thurman raised the most of any Soror with $130! Unfortunately, the rain forced the event to end earlier

than expected.
