TARGET III: FAMILY STRENGTHENING

On Tuesday, April, 28, 2015, Target III: Family Sorors Datie Priest and Yvonne Stevenson serving
healthy snacks to guests at the Huntsville Housing
Strengthening Committee partnered with the Huntsville Authority’s “Financial Literacy/Budgeting and Saving for
Retirement/Home Ownership” Workshop
Housing Authority and First Commercial Bank in
presenting “Financial Literacy/Budgeting and Saving for
Retirement/Homeownership” Workshop. This workshop
was presented during Phase 2 of the Housing Authority’s
Workforce Development Program. Workforce
Development classes were held at the Oscar Mason Center,
every Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from April 7th
through May 19th. Members of the Family Strengthening
Committee provided “healthy snacks” to the 25+ workshop
participants. The participants left with information on
credit worthiness and resources to secure home loans.

“Bring on the Fiesta!” was the
national theme for National
Nursing Home Week (May 10-16,
2015). Target III visited the Floyd
E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans
Home on May 15, 2015. Members
of Target III hosted a "Taco Salad Target III Sorors entertaining a resident of the Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State
Bar Party" for all of the long-term Veterans Home during the Taco Salad Bar Fiesta.

committee members express a heartfelt thank you to Sorors who made donations towards the purchase of the
items needed for the taco salad bar and to all Sorors who participated the day of the event.
