Landscape Concept
Located within the very unique Baja Peninsula the guest experience, creating a memorable and unique
environment, the project site encompasses various sense of place in Los Cabos.
ecological zones that are defined by unique landforms,
proximity to the salt laden ocean breezes, and elevation
transitions from the lower to upper zones.

The natural landforms of arroyos, open hillsides, and
hilltops with their spectacular view opportunities
will define the character of the master plan and the
landscape architectural design. By respecting and
working within the opportunities and constraints of
the natural setting, the design will create a beautiful
and sustainable community, and a memorable guest
experience celebrating the unique landscape character
 of Los Cabos.

The naturally occurring plant material on the site,
Ciruelos, Torotes, Cardons, Pittayas, are unique to the
Baja Peninsula. Their dramatic forms both viewed
during the day and lighted at night are a delight, and
when properly placed create a beautiful landscape only
possible in Los Cabos. Carefully rescue and relocating
these specimens from the existing site, they not only
are preserved and protected, but can be placed in
special locations that highlight their unique character,
providing a rich addition to the community.

Careful attention will be made to optimize the siting
of the roadways and development areas, working
within the existing landforms to take advantage of the
arroyo, hillside, and distant ocean views. The landscape
character of the streetscape is the thread that ties the
community together, shifting and changing in character
as it traverses through the environmental zones and
topographic changes of the site. Wide parkways
with trails, landform grading and use of native plant
materials will enhance the special quality of the site.
The recreation opportunities are many. By embracing
the special character of the site, guests and residents
can experience the arroyos, hilltops, and open spaces
through recreation opportunities unique to the
landform of the project-trails of varying difficulty for
hiking, running, and biking that traverse the arroyos,
hillsides and open spaces, and preservation and
interpretive elements to foster a deeper connection to
the land. Hilltops become destinations, with spectacular
overlooks during the day, and wonderful locations in
the evening to watch the stars and enjoy the views.
The landscape design will celebrate the beauty of
the natural landscape, provide a rhythm of light and
shadow in the day, and drama when lighted at night.
The landscape elements will filter views, accent special
places, frame the view opportunities and will enhance
