Then Jesus said, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I com mand thee go out of him. And enter not any more into him."
The devil cried out, and for a moment it looked as though he were going to tear the boy to pieces. But he went out of him, and the boy dropped to the ground. Beholding him lying there, many of the people said, ''He is dead.'' But Jesus, taking him by the hand, lifted him up and restored him to his father.
That evening the disciples came to Jesus secretly \ and asked Him, ''Why could we not cast him out Y '' Jesus said to them, ''Because of your unbelief. For I
say to you, if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. You could say to this mul berry tree, 'Be thou rooted up, be thou transplanted into the sea,' and it would obey you. This kind of evil spirit is not cast out except by prayer and fasting.''
In the spring of the third year of His public life, our Thegh blessed Savior was teaching in the neighborhood of :: Tyre and Sidon, when a Gentile woman came to Him Gentile and begged Him to cure her daughter, who was man possessed by the devil. Jesus paid no attention to her,
but she followed after Him, crying out, "Have mercy on me, 0 Lord, Thou Son of David. My daughter is grievously troubled by a devil.'' Jesus answered her not a word. His disciples said to Him, ''Send her away, for she crieth after us.''
Finally Jesus said to the woman, "I was not sent but to the sheep that are lost of the house of Israel."· By this He meant to let the woman know that His
