JESUS RAISES THE DAUGHTER OF JAIRUS TO LIFE
anyone to enter with Him except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the little girl. In­ side, many people were standing about, weeping and wailing, but Jesus said to them, "Weep not. The girl is not dead, but sleepeth.'' But they knew that she was dead and they laughed Him to scorn. He ordered them all to be put out of the house, and, taking the father and the mother and His three apostles, He en­ tered into the room where the girl was lying. Taking her by the hand, He said, "Talitha cumi," which means, "Little girl, I say to thee, arise." Immediately she rose up and walked. Then Jesus told her happy and astonished parents to give her something to eat.
