Do you have a list of employers who hire
people with criminal histories?
The answer, of course, is “no.” But there are things professionals can do to
help the ex-offender put together his or her own list of ex-offender-friend-
ly employers. You’ll also find useful information here on accessing FBI
and state rap sheets, federal occupational restrictions, and model re-entry
practices. Access to some of these sections for professionals requires a
paid annual or lifetime membership. For individuals, membership is free
based on H.I.R.E.’s philosophy on helping people turn their lives around.

The Council of State Governments Justice Center is a nonprofit orga-
nization tasked with providing policymakers at all government levels
with advice and strategies for improving public safety and strengthen-
ing communities. Its evidence-based focus and data-driven approach
are targeted on the criminal justice system, with re-entry, mental illness,
and justice reinvestment taking center stage.
The Justice Center’s re-entry clearinghouse provides some basic con-
tact information on re-entry programs and services for both individuals
and professionals as well as conducts useful webinars. The website has
three major sections of interest to individuals and professionals:
