He wrote, by hand, as instructed, the message the envelope contained, checked that he had written
it verbatim, placed it in an Embassy envelope, addressed it and arranged for it to be included in that
            evening’s diplomatic bag.

Having completed the first part of his task, he took a taxi to Davies Street, told the taxi driver to
wait and entered the luxurious premises of G.H Thorpes & co private bankers.

A door attendant led him to a small oak panelled office occupied by a vivacious young woman who
enquired how she might assist him.

‘My name is Edward Alladyce. An account has been opened in my name. This is my authorisation
for the account. I wish to make a transfer to the account of Warner Global Ventures of Boston
Massachusetts, these are the bank details.

‘And what amount do you wish to transfer?

‘Three million, one hundred and forty one thousand, five hundred and ninety two dollars, the
            amount must be exact.’

‘Of course.’ The young woman didn’t bat an eyelid; transference of such large sums must be a
            regular occurrence.

The young woman took the papers and left to reappear very shortly. ‘Thank you Mister Alladyce,
everything is in order, I just require your signature for the transfer instruction and the Sterling to
Dollars exchange commission to be charged to your account.’

Mex signed as Edward Alladyce. ‘I will be making a further transfer in a weeks time.’

‘I shall look forward to seeing you then, goodbye Mister Alladyce.’
