will know them” (Matthew 7:20). The spiritual fruit
produced in us by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22…
but the fruit of the Spirit is love, goodness,
faithfulness,) is the confirmation that He lives
within us. Therefore, we are told to “examine
yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test
yourselves, do you not know yourselves that Jesus
Christ is in you? – Unless indeed you are disqualified.”
(2 Corinthians 13:5).
The final “confirmation” of our salvation is, of
course, in the future. Those who are true
Christians, the Bible tells us, will persevere to the
end, “7: so that you come short in no gift, eagerly
waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8:
who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be
blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ “
(1 Corinthians 1:7-8 NKJV).
We are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise,
“Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal,
the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit
guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of
