Page 22 - Finding Identity
P. 22

It was on the 6th April 1983 I was confronted with

a question “Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ?"
My immediate response was in the affirmative for

as a member/follower of Roman Catholicism I had

heard about the man called Jesus Christ. The

problem is that many of us know about Jesus Christ

but do we really know Him, do we have an intimate
relationship with Him. The question we have to ask

ourselves is if our identity is based on what we

know about Jesus or on Sonship …because when the
time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a

woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the
law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.”

            Gal 4:4-5 (NIV).

So for a long time during my journey I had

confirmed my Christianity by knowledge and not

            understanding.
So my question now is “What Does Being a

            Christian Really Mean?”
