12. Since Jesus laid His life for you, why should you be afraid of your own life.

All this knowledge will help you to deal with any fear you have. You are called to be bold

because of the indwelling Christ. As a christian, you should fear no circumstance, no people, no
environment, no condition because as you express your faith in the Word of God, you will be

able to be an overcomer.

STUDY FIVE

EXERCISING THE POWER OF CHRIST

TEXT: 2Cor. 13:5, Rom. 8:10, 2Cor. 4:6-7, Gal. 1:15-16, Gal. 4:19, Eph. 3:7
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not
your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2Cor 13:5). And if
Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness
(Rom 8:10). For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our
hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But
we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and
not of us (2Cor 4:6-7). But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb,
and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the
heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood (Gal 1:15-16).

You want to do well in life but you cannot still do well even as a christian, you fail to

know and exercise the power of Christ always. The key word is ‘always’ because you exercise
the power at one time or the other but not always.

In life, you will be confronted with circumstances and situations that will test your faith

in Christ just like it happened to the people in the early church. Knowing that the power of Christ
is in you is very important. The conscienceness of the reality of the indwelling Christ is what

gives you power over life’s troubles and circumstances.

The reason you do less better than unbelievers sometimes is that you fail to acknowledge
or exercise the power of Christ that is in you always. To start with, you must know of the

indwelling power which must be projected to do good things in your life. If you are somebody

who doesn’t know the authority you have, satan, sin and hell will rise over you and this is what
you must not allow to happen. You may be living far below the standard God has set for you but
