Jimmy’s mind and body were worn out after every round of golf, but
he had not forgotten about Jacob and searched in vain for him every
weekend. He even asked one of the older cart boys about him, but
received such a teasing, he didn’t mention it again.
An older golfer overheard their conversation and motioned for Jimmy
to come over.
“Don’t listen to those knuckleheads! Jacob helped me with a wicked slice
years ago, but he only appears to those who listen and believe.”
Jimmy just stood there as the elderly man walked away. He felt a little
disappointed that Jacob had appeared to other people, but at the same
time, a little more reassured that the experience had been real.
