Meet Commissioner Spencer R. Moore

The new DDS Commissioner – a native of Orianna with strong family ties to Middle Georgia,
who enjoys golf, loves being a father, and his nieces and nephews call him “Uncle Bubba,”
opens up to the DDS Scoop!

We are coming up on your 6th month anniversary as Commissioner of DDS. Has this job been
what you thought it was going to be?

Yes, and more! The rewarding part has been building closer relationships with many of our team
members. The challenging part is the time – having enough time to do all the things that have
to be accomplished and meet with all the people that need a part of my schedule. The last 6
months have been a terrific start – we’ve had system challenges, challenging media stories,
challenging legislative initiatives, but we have persevered and it has been rewarding to continue
to grow as a team. My 6-month anniversary will be on July 18th!
