                                                                                                                    Chesterfield County’s Department
                                                                                                                 of Mental Health Support Services
                                                                                                                 has announced it will change its hours
                                                                                                                 beginning Jan. 1, to better serve its
                                                                                                                 customers.
                                                                                                                    The department will open one half-
                                                                                                                 hour earlier Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.
                                                                                                                 instead of 8:30 a.m., and will close on
                                                                                                                 Mondays at 5 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.
                                                                                                                    Department director Debbie
                                                                                                                 Burcham said this change will help
                                                                                                                 the department better meet customers’
                                                                                                                 needs, since there is a high demand
                                                                                                                 between 8-9 a.m. and throughout the
                                                                                                                 day, and the need drops after 4 p.m.
                                                                                                                 The department will be open until 9
                                                                                                                 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays for general
                                                                                                                 requests and for the substance-use
                                                                                                                 groups that meet in the evenings.
                                                                                                                    The new hours of operation will be:
                                                                                                                 Monday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 8
                                                                                                                 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 9
                                                                                                                 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday
                                                                                                                 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
