The Predator T hrough a cross-border investigation with European Investigative
Spyware Scandal Collaborations (EIC), Shomrim uncovered how Israeli spyware
company Intellexa, led by Tal Dilian, sold advanced surveillance tools
Daniel Dolev to authoritarian regimes. The spyware was used to target dissidents,
journalists, and even U.S. government officials.
Impact: In March 2024, the U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions
on Tal Dilian and other Intellexa executives. This investigation,
widely covered in Calcalist, The Marker, and Kan 11, showcased the
global consequences of unchecked cyber surveillance and the urgent
need for regulatory oversight.
