Gray Lyons, M.D., Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Interventional Radiology
Dr. Grafe (Gray) Lyons will be an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine
Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. He specializes in interventional
radiology.
Dr. Lyons graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine with a M.D.–Ph.D. in
2013. He subsequently completed a preliminary general surgery internship followed by a
diagnostic radiology residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY.
During his final year of radiology residency, Dr. Lyons became and currently still is the
reviewer for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Following residency, he
completed a year-long fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Miami
Cardiac and Vascular Institute of the Baptist Health South Florida system. He will be
joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in September 2019.
Reema Goel, M.D. Assistant Professor, Nuclear Medicine
Dr. Reema Goel will be joining as an Assistant Professor in Nuclear Medicine at Johns
Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. She specializes in
radionuclide therapies, nuclear cardiology, oncologic and molecular imaging using PET/CT
and PET/MRI.
Dr. Goel graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, India in 2010. She subsequently
completed nuclear medicine residency at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and
Research (PGIMER), India in December 2013 with distinction receiving a silver medal for her
overall accomplishments. She also won special accolades for leading a prospective study on
‘Role of 68 Ga-DOTATATE Whole Body PET/CT scan in the evaluation of pediatric
neuroblastoma' during residency. Following residency, during her year-long work on the first
ever Simultaneous PET- MRI in South East Asia located in New Delhi, Dr. Goel successfully led
several research projects involving MRI based attenuation correction methods, role of PET/MRI in brain tumors, breast
cancer, and pelvic malignancies. Subsequently she also completed a research fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at Johns
Hopkins, a Nuclear Medicine residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas as well as a Nuclear Oncology
fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York. Her research interests include theranostics, and use of
novel PET tracers and techniques like PET/CT and PET/MR for early assessment of disease status and response
Dr. Goel enjoys travelling across the globe and has been to a number of countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia and
Africa. She is also curious about cuisine exploration, reading, arts and culture and loves to attend musicals and theatrical
performances. Dr. Goel will be joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in October 2019.
