New Radiology Faculty


        Javad Azadi, M.D.                                                    Assistant Professor, Diagnostic Radiology
                               Dr. Javad Azadi is an Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of
                               Radiology and Radiological Sciences. He specializes in body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
                               computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and image-guided biopsy.

                               Dr. Azadi graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2013. He
                               subsequently completed a preliminary internal medicine internship at MedStar Union
                               Memorial Hospital in Baltimore followed by diagnostic radiology residency at Johns Hopkins.
                               During his final year of radiology residency, Dr. Azadi was a chief resident and served as a cross-
                               sectional imaging fellow. Dr. Azadi graduated residency with distinction in Clinical Education
                               and High Value Care. Following residency, he completed a year-long fellowship in Body MRI at
                               Johns Hopkins. Currently, Dr. Azadi serves as the assistant course director for the diagnostic
                               radiology medical student elective, course director for the business of radiology resident
        elective, and the representative radiologist on the departmental QI committee.

        Dr. Azadi’s research focuses on the role of body CT and MRI in evaluating the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems.
        He joins the Johns Hopkins faculty in July 2019.

        James Facciola, M.D.                                                   Clinical Instructor, Diagnostic Radiology

                               Dr. James Facciola is a clinical instructor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of
                               Radiology and Radiological Sciences. He specializes in body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
                               computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and image-guided biopsy.

                               Dr. Facciola graduated from the Temple University School of Medicine in 2013. He
                               subsequently completed a preliminary surgical internship at Temple University Hospital in
                               Philadelphia, PA followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Temple University Hospital.
                               Following residency, he completed a year-long fellowship in cross-sectional imaging at Johns
                               Hopkins.
                               Dr. Facciola’s research has included study of the anatomic changes seen in the male and female
                               pelvis in children with bladder exstrophy. He joins the Johns Hopkins faculty in July 2019.


        Jenny Hoang, M.B.B.S., M.H.S.                                     Vice Chair of Radiology Enterprise Integration
                                                                                  Associate Professor, Neuroradiology
                               Dr. Jenny Hoang is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiation Oncology joining us from
                               Duke University Health System. Dr. Hoang earned her M.B.B.S. from the University of
                               Melbourne, completed a diagnostic radiology residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne,
                               Australia, and completed fellowships in cardiothoracic radiology and neuroradiology at Duke
                               University Medical Center. Dr. Hoang is a lifelong learner – she graduated with a Masters in
                               Health Science from Duke University in 2017 and is currently an executive MBA 2019 candidate
                               at the Duke Fuqua School of Business.
                               Dr. Hoang's career is accentuated by her strong involvement in research and education. She has
                               published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles with a focus on thyroid and parathyroid
                               imaging. She led the American College of Radiology (ACR) efforts in producing a White Paper on
                               Incidental Thyroid Findings and was a core member of the ACR TI-RADS committee for thyroid
        ultrasound. She is currently the PI for ACR’s Multicenter Thyroid Ultrasound Registry. Dr. Hoang is motivated by
        impacting patient care, and empowering and energizing other healthcare providers to do their best. She will be joining
        the Johns Hopkins faculty in August 2019.
