         How we got the 100 Pounder                                  the last rod and missed it but I heard Dennis say, “ Whoooaaaa,
                                                                     Oh My!” and I knew it was big! I asked how big and he said, “ I

  We were in my 18 foot Smokercraft fishing the St. Clair-Detroit     So if you were within 1/4 Mile of us you knew we had a monster

Tournament from 6pm to 12 a.m. The longest Sturgeon would
win half the money collected and “Sturgeon for Tomorrow” re-
ceived the other half for Sturgeon Preservation.

  We motored downriver until I found a spot Dennis and I both
thought looked promising. We had high hopes of catching the
Monster. Around 7 p.m., Dennis hooked the 1st Sturgeon! It
jumped a few times and we both guessed it was a little over 40”.
It ended being 45” and was leading the Tournament! After photos
with the special tournament logo and tape, it was released un-
harmed to be caught by another lucky angler another day!

  Around 8 p.m. Dennis set the hook again and said Sturgeon! Af-
ter about 2 minutes it jumped clear of the water and I was clearing
