           these two pictures?

If you don't know, this might be the right year for
you to take the U.S. Power Squadron course.

Besides a cost savings on your boat insurance,
you might not be the reason for a serious injury to yourself
or to a fellow boater.

2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the U.S.
Power Squadron. The USPS was originally organized to
provide a second line of military defense during World
War I. Today, the primary mission is boating education,
recreation, and public service. They also offer free boat-
ing support to dealers, marinas, and yacht clubs with free
safety boat inspections and seminars.

Check the web for one of these local branches for
a boating education class for you and your family... The
Anchor Bay Power Squadron which celebrated 40 years
last season, the Detroit Power Squadron, Grosse Pointe
Power Squadron, Mount Clemens Power Squadron, Port
Huron Sail & Power Squadron, and the St. Clair Shores
Sail & Power Squadron. Or, go to www.usps.org for other
outlying areas.

And, for those who didn't notice, the waverunner
is not following at a safe distance and the boat at right has
its propeller out of the water with a young man standing on
the transom! According to the sheriff, there were at least
7 propeller injuries on Lake St. Clair last season.
