ADVISORY BOARD ORGANIZATION
Section 1: Affiliation
The Family Center/Program Site (Center) is established and shall operate under the provisions of the By-
Laws of the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and the Advisory Board Guidelines.
Section 2: Purpose
The Advisory Board serves to cooperate and collaborate with other Centers and organizations to fulfill
the mission and strategic plan of the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA. In addition, Advisory Boards
support the local leadership team to ensure that programs and services promote healthy spirit, mind,
and body for all through philanthropic and partnership opportunities that support the charitable work of
the Y.
Section 3: Oversight Committee
The Advisory Board chair serves on the Association Oversight Committee as commissioned by the Tampa
Metropolitan Area YMCA Governance Board.
Section 4: Advisory Board
The Advisory Board is commissioned by the Governance Board as an advisory body, comprised of
community volunteers, and dedicated to supporting and advancing the mission of YMCA Centers and
Program locations.
The Center Executive is the staff leader and is hired and supervised by the EVP/COO of the Association
or their designee. The Center Executive is accountable for the management of the Center, the
administration of Association policies, and responsible for the employment, training, development,
supervision, and evaluation of Center staff.
No action, activity, events or projects by the Advisory Board may be in conflict in any way with the By-
Laws of the Association, direction of the President/CEO, or the Governance Board.
