                                                                                        General Report

“A very important part of the joy of living is found in the joy of giving.”

All of us at LWB send our deepest thanks to you for impacting the lives of
orphaned and rural children in such wonderful ways. Your funds this quarter were
used across all of our program areas, and we’d love to share a few of the stories
            of children you helped.

We’re happy to report that baby Oliver continues to
recover following his recent heart surgery for a
complex heart defect. This beautiful little boy was
born with Down Syndrome, and several hospitals had
told his extremely impoverished family that they
should give up on trying to save his life not only due
to their poverty but also because of his special need.
Initial funds for his surgery were raised through our
medical program, but then little Oliver ended up
needing to remain in the ICU on a ventilator for much
longer than expected. We cheered when he was
finally removed from the ventilator and could get back
into his mama’s arms. LWB general funds are covering the remainder of Oliver’s
hospitalization costs, and we are giving thanks that this much loved little boy now
has new hope for a long life.

General funds were also used to provide care to not one, but two, sets of twins
who needed healing care at the Mukono Baby Room in Uganda. Premature
twins Ana and Lisa sadly lost their mother when she passed away from childbirth
complications. Gage and Given arrived to the home malnourished. All four of the
babies are receiving lots of nutritious formula and TLC, and you can see they are
now on their way to full health.
