of the most vulnerable babies of all in China, those who enter orphanage care
with often complex medical needs. Baby Mya is one of those tiny ones, as she
was found with esophageal atresia and was taken to the orphanage in critical
condition, weak from malnourishment. Amy reports that Mya is now gaining
strength each day and blessing the home with her newly found smiles. Mya just
had another full check-up at the hospital, and while she does have a small heart
defect still, doctors feel we can just monitor her for now. Her throat and
esophagus have fully recovered, and she no longer needs any dilation therapy.
Another baby Amy visited was little Jerome, who definitely would not have
survived without emergency medical and then healing home care. While he is still
recovering from his recent heart surgery, he broke into smiles every time
someone made eye contact. He loves being held by his nannies, and we can’t
wait to watch his transformation over the next few months.
