3.0 CIMAH SAFETY REPORT
3.1 Principal Objectives
The principal objectives of the Safety Report are described in Part D of the CIMAH
report, i.e.:
• to identify the nature of activity carried out in the facility;
• to identity the type, relative likelihood and consequences of the major accidents
that might occur;
• to give an account of the arrangements:
- for safe operation of the activity;
- for control of serious deviations that could lead to major accidents; and
- for emergency procedures.
3.2 Report Structure
The CIMAH Safety Report structure is prepared in accordance to Schedule 6 (Sub
regulations 14 (1) and 15 (1)) of the ClMAH Regulations, which is divided into four major
parts. The guidelines for the preparation of the Report is as below:
Part A: Information relating to every hazardous substance involved in the
industrial activity and its relevant quantity as listed in Schedule 2
• the name of the hazardous substance as given in Schedule 2 or, for
hazardous substance included under a general designation, the name
corresponding to the chemical formula of the hazardous substance;
• a general description of the analytical method available to the
manufacturer in determining the presence of the hazardous substance
or references to such method in the scientific literature;
• a brief description of the hazards which may be created by the
hazardous substance; and
• the degree of purity of the hazardous substance and the names of its
main impurities and their percentages.
