C3.8 Ceilings
Suspended Ceilings
All dining area suspended ceiling are to be
installed as lay in ceiling tiles in T 24 ceiling grid;
all available McDonald’s nominated supplier,
refer to separate section.
All areas of suspended ceiling to be supported
from the soffit by 25x25x1.5mm angle hangers
at min 1200 x 1200 centre with both ends folded
over for fixings. Head to be fixed into cold rolled
steel sections with 5mm dia self tapping screws
ensuring minimum 3 thread projection.
Solid Ceilings
Plasterboard ceiling to be created using
propriety Gyproc MF ceiling system, hung from
the building steelwork at soffit level. MF system
to be hung from 25x25.1.5mm angle sections
at max 900x900mm grid centres with both ends
folded over for fixings. Head to be fixed into cold
rolled steel sections with 5mm dia self tapping
screws ensuring minimum 3 thread projection.
MF frame system to be boarded using 9.5mm
Gyproc plasterboard, covered with 2.5mm skim
finish. All areas of solid ceiling to have 2No mist
coats and 1No final coat as identified on the
site specific drawings
Where access panels may be required in areas
of solid ceiling, 450x450 Gyproc profilex access
panels must be used with tamper proof locks
and a beaded frame edge. Note that access
panels must be installed prior to skim coat for
correct installation. Access panel face to be
decorated to match ceiling exactly.
