3.2 Cold Room
The cold room will normally be purchased
directly by the franchisee for a Self-Build or
DPUK&I Ltd for a corporate build, and supplied
and installed by a specialist sub-contractor.
The Shopfitting Contractor will be required to:
• Provide normal attendance to the specialist
sub-contractor and to coordinate the
installation of the cold room into his works
programme.
• Ensure that the floor is flat and level and that
the floor finishes are laid under the cold room
prior to its installation
• Provide a suitable ‘washing machine type’
trapped waste on the nearest suitable drain
run for the coldroom condensate. Where
this is not possible, a condensate pump will
be supplied and installed by the cold room
manufacturer, but a suitable discharge
point will still be required.
The coldroom must incorporate both an
emergency light and a brighter working light.
These will normally be supplied and installed by
the coldroom supplier.
Emergency lighting to be connected by
electrician for final test / commissioning.
