Refits
All franchisees are eligible to self-build on refit projects, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the
Standard Franchise Agreement and current DPG refit guide. The scope of a refit can be categorised as either
‘standard’, or ‘enhanced works’, as noted below:
Self-Build - Standard Refit
As part of a standard self-build refit project, DPG services will include:
• Raising instructions on behalf of the Franchisee with respect to:
- Principal Designer appointment
- Asbestos survey(s)
- Measured building surveys / site surveys, as required
• Instructing Architects, as required
• Instructing applications for signage planning consent, as required
• Instructing applications for other Local Authority approvals, as required
Fee payable by the Franchisee for standard refit project is £100 + VAT*
*Excludes external consultant fees / fees payable to statutory bodies. All costs to be approved in writing by
the Franchisee prior to any instructions being raised by DPG.
Self-Build - Enhanced Works Refit
In addition to the scope of a standard refit project as listed above, DPG services for self-build projects with
‘enhanced works’ will also include:
• Instructing Building Control Approved Inspectors, as required
• Instructing Party Wall Surveyors, as required
• Instructing Structural Engineers, as required
• Instructing other specialist consultants, as required
Fee payable by the Franchisee for an ‘enhanced works’ refit project is £500 + VAT*
*Excludes external consultant fees / fees payable to statutory bodies. All costs to be approved in writing by
the Franchisee prior to any instructions being raised by DPG.
