French soldiers carried the colonialism in their mind. They
always looked at Vietnamese people without respective on their
eyes, walked on the Vietnam ground and used their rule as the
masters. They got drunk, went out the side-walk from the bars
with all the dirty words and actions onto the native people. They
are staggering on the Bach-Mai street, beat the people on the
side-walk, sexual-harassment all over the women and girls
around the bar's area. Sometimes the drunk soldiers came into
the bar's neighbors to destroy the whole goods and ran after the
house owner spouse or his daughter to rape them.

Vietnamese, who were living in the cities, looked at French
soldiers’ dirty things with the sorrowful and pain in the deep of
their soul. They hated French colonials more than Viet Minh
because Vietminh understood the value of the nonviolence
traditions for the Vietnamese. They wish to destroy it to control
the people, but the time do not let them burn up those
nonviolence traditions. They advantaged it to open the tactic of
political warfare to make the people falling into their side and
help them to fight with French colonials.

The French colonials could not have any policy for the
Vietnamese nonviolence traditions also they wanted to destroy it
right away to place the slavery jokes on Vietnamese’s necks.
They brought all the freedom of sex along with their power as
the master into the Vietnam soil by their proud of their
civilization. They had sexual-harassment for the women, raped
the young girls in the corner of the wall at night, drunk and beat
the people on the streets with their power of guns. Also, French
colonials had destroyed the family values, made the Vietnamese
nonviolence traditions broken. They knew that Vietnamese
people had been keeping those nonviolence traditions as the
precious things with respect, and continued to build up for the
next generations from the thousand years.

Few times, Nguyen saw the group of MP French soldiers
beating, handcuff the drunk soldiers and threw them onto the
