Thorn In The Heart

The Thang-Long Cinema, Mo market was on the left side of
the Thang-Long alley, and their front-faced to the Bach-Mai
street. They had a short distance in order sequence farther from
the Thang-Long alley and noisy. Nguyen would like to see the
wild animals in the Africa forest. Therefore sometimes he asked
his mom a ticket for this kind of films, which will show at
Thang-Long cinema. Most the time she shook her head and said:
“No.” Then following with it was her reason explanation about
the family living situations, or she said the money that came
from his blood father on the battlefield.

It made Nguyen felt pain in his heart with the sorrowful,
then he walked away from his mother going to his room, cried in
silence when he thinks of his father situations. He prayed the
Lord with his hope; he will let his father safe and going home
         when the war is ending.

Few times Nguyen’s mother had a happy smile. She nodded
her head for his help and gave him all the change for a ticket
after he was back from the Mo market and brought home a
bottle of fish sauces for his mother. She was using it to cook
with the foods for family lunch and dinner every day.

After Nguyen watched the show and went home, he told
every detail about Tanzania, Lions, elephants, tigers and his
favor monkey to two of his sisters with extreme voice on the
         story.

The bars opened nearby the Bach-Mai Air Force base
entrance area. This area is noisy by any music and the drunk
soldiers from early evening until midnight late without respected
the neighbors. The bars attracted French Foreign Legion soldiers
by the prostitutes, beer and cognac. Therefore most the time the
people on the Bach-Mai street side-walks and the bars'
neighbors were the victim of the drunk soldiers without the help
         of police officers.
