Nguyen’s father stone turned back to softly. The voice liked
a sorrow and sigh.
“I wanted to tell him why I ran away from Vietminh, why I
became a Vietnamese soldier and stood on the French side. You
knew everywhere will become the battle filed any time, and I
may get stuck in it....”
“Trung-Thanh. I do not want to hear it...!” In the sobbing
with emotion voice, she said.
“Okay. I do not say any more word. But it was the truth we
can not run away from it.”
“I knew...! But I do not want he lost his childhood by
thinking of the dirty war.” In the fair words, My-Trinh
explained.
Trung-Thanh looked at his son, shook his head.
“Nguyen. You understand what your mom and I just
discussed about, do you?”
Nguyen took a quick look at his father then turned away.
“Not much... But I will try...” In a low voice, he said.
“Nguyen. Do not try to find out anything about war.
You must forget all of it; also you do not understand the true
thing about war.” In a raised and shape voice he said.
Nguyen started at his father.
“Yes, sir.”
Trung-Thanh had sight and sunk into the sofa, let his
children playing on the floor and looking at the ceiling.
