This course is designed for students who want to continue to develop an in-depth knowledge of the language through the study of literature and culture at an advanced level. Students will read a selection of short stories, news articles and poetry. Level IV Honors will review all previously learned grammar while enriching and applying this knowledge. There will be an emphasis on the development of formal written compositions and oral proficiency through presentations and discussions. This class will be conducted in the target language. Oral proficiency is an integral part of this course. This class is designed for the student that will be taking the Language and Culture AP Exam and/or the International Baccalaureate Higher Level Exam.

This course is a continuation of the study of Latin American and Spanish literature with the addition of a novel and/or a play. Students have the opportunity to work on independent projects. Grammar is reviewed and original compositions are required. This course prepares students for the AP exam in all four skill areas (reading, writing, listening, speaking). Students earning a grade of “A” or “B” are expected to take the AP exam. This class will be conducted in the target language. Oral proficiency is an integral part of this course. This class is designed for the student that will be taking the Language and Culture AP Exam and/or the International Baccalaureate Higher Level Exam.
