The “ideal” teacher that Westbury secondary
school would need.
In this part of the assignment, each person presented their digital story. We watched
all three stories and finally collated common ideas from each story that portrays the
kind of “ideal” needed for our school context. Below, we have stated those ideas.
Westbury secondary school would
need a teacher who is very patient
to tolerate the behaviour of
learners. Someone who will be
able to connect with learners. A
teacher who is knowledgeable and
masters the subject matter and
has skills transferring that
knowledge to learners in his/her classroom. Someone who has high expectations of
his/her learners and encourages them to reach their highest potential.
A teacher who has great knowledge of the school's curriculum and standards they
must uphold to in the classroom and ensure his/her way of teaching meets those
standards. He/she who maintains open communication with parents, learners and
other stakeholders concerning the progress and behaviour of the learners.
