work with other staff members
in order to close all these gaps.
He/she should be able to
change learners’ beliefs about
education, make them see the
importance of education, how
education will change their
lives and lives of people around
them. Has passion for children
and for teaching. This teacher
is enthusiast and understands
the impact she has in learners' lives.
He/she builds up solid rapport
with learners and sets up
trusting relationships- she is
open to any kind of questions and
opinions brought forward by
learners and then correct
learners’ misconceptions. This
educator should be able to hold
the attention of learners in all
discussions with her variety of interesting teaching strategies- teach learners to be
independent and critical thinkers in the future.
Most importantly, the teacher should be
someone who celebrates and honours
diversity and present lesson that are
individualised- have learners’ differences
(beliefs, culture, gender, home background)
in mind all the time to help them relate to
learners.
The points mentioned above will lead to
learners being respectful, having a sense of belonging and security. Learners will
trust this teacher with their education and guidance. In this way, learning will
successfully take place and learners’ lives will change for the better.
