Speaking next was Mr. Pat Thomas, Senior Vice President of State
Government Affairs for UPS (ret). Mr. Thomas also served as Chairman of
the American Trucking Association from October 2015 until October 2016.

Mr. Thomas’ portion of the overall presentation was titled E-Commerce and the Last Mile Delivery. Mr. Thomas applied his
trucking industry expertise to this important topic by first discussing trends in the transportation industry.
After speaking in detail the current state of the trucking industry, Mr. Thomas moved on to discuss the impact that
legislative and regulatory actions will likely have on the future:
