Our next and final speaker was former Navy SEAL, Mr. Chad Williams, who delivered
a powerful motivational presentation. Mr. Williams draws from his experience in
military to provide a Navy SEAL's perspective on issues related to effective

leadership, resilience, teamwork, overcoming adversity and motivation.

Mr. Williams began his presentation by sharing the path he was on that led him to

become a Navy SEAL. Unmotivated in high school and uninterested in attending

college, Mr. Williams decided in his senior year of high school that he wanted to

become a Navy SEAL. In an effort to dissuade him and hopefully steer him towards

college, Mr. Williams’ father hired Navy SEAL Scott Helvenston to spend the day with

him and show him just what being a Navy SEAL meant. The plan backfired. Mr.

William’s returned from his day with Mr. Helvenston bloodied, beaten…and

exhilarated! He found his calling in life and his resolve was stronger than ever. Mr.

Williams continued to work with Mr. Helvenston on a regular basis as he got closer to
                                                                                                 Chad Williams
his training commencement, gaining in him not only a mentor but a friend.

Only days prior to entering SEAL training Mr. Williams’ resolve would be tested as he turned on a television one morning

to see the unexpected graphic video footage Mr. Helvenston brutally killed, mutilated and dragged through the streets of

Fallujah, Iraq. Mr. Williams became steeled in resolve to complete SEAL Training in honor and memory of his good friend.

Mr. Williams entered the military's most difficult and grueling training known as BUD/S. As 1 of 13 out of a class of 173

trainees, he climbed the mountain and earned his Trident which signifies he had become a Navy SEAL. While proud of his

success, Mr. Williams learned that the SEAL Team motto of "earn your Trident everyday" which means the SEALs don't

rest on their laurels and that the training is never really over because they always strive for better!

Serving his country proudly through multiple deployments on SEAL Teams One and Seven Mr. Williams continued to

hone the technical skill, tactical proficiency and attention to detail that our nation's best warriors adhere to. In a final

operation in Iraq, Mr. Williams shared the story of how his SEAL Team was set up on a premeditated ambush similar to

the location and scenario that took the life of his mentor Mr. Helvenston. But on that occasion Mr. Williams and his Team

were victorious, overcoming the enemy and odds set against them.

Mr. Wiliams concluded his presentation with accentuating that the same principles that he depended on to get through

the rigorous training program and to return from his missions alive, can also be applied in business leadership:

                                                           Success

                                                               in
                                                          Business

                                Mental Teamwork Safety
                          Toughness and and and
