Dow’s High-Performance Innovations for the Truck and Trailer Industry
When it comes to improving a vehicle’s efficiency, there’s more to consider than just fuel consumption. Dow
serves the transportation industry with solutions that enhance energy efficiency, durability and lighten a range of
truck and trailer types to keep food fresher longer, increase fuel savings and improve the environment.
TM
• BETAMATE Structural Adhesives used in plywood flooring for trailer bodies enables the floor to be
bonded directly to the trailer body, eliminating the need for mechanical fasteners such as screws during
installation.
• BETAFORCE and BETAMATE Structural Adhesives for the replacement of mechanical fasteners enable
TM
significant weight reduction, enhance product longevity, and provide better corrosion protection.
• BETAFILL Adhesives and Seam Sealers provide permanent elasticity and good adhesion properties for a
TM
variety of substrates while providing acoustical and thermal management advantages.
TM
• BETASEAL Elastic Adhesives for roof bonding and mixed material joining enhances structural integrity
and reduces contact corrosion.
To be cost-efficient, refrigerated trucks require lightweight insulation that’s durable enough to stand up to heavy
use.
• Seal and insulate around joints, penetrations and hard-to-reach corners with FROTH-PAK Insulation and
TM
Sealants to reduce air and moisture penetration.
TM
• Using VORACOR Polyurethane Insulation on the walls, ceiling and flooring of a refrigerated vehicle helps
keep contents stored at the optimal temperature and helps keep fuel costs down by lightweighting the body of
the truck.
• This technology is in development to meet EPA standards and reduce global warming potential by
99.9% while sustaining the energy efficiency and durability benefits Dow provides today.
