of donations, as the temple was for the benefit of the people to obtain the blessings of Shree Dattatreya and Krishnanatha Maharaj. My father never ever obtained a single dime for himself through this temple. This should be noted. This temple was founded in 1944. Mr. Gokhale of Trio Furniture Company donated a statue of Shree Dattatreya, but a hand of the statue broke off during the installation. My father worshipped in that temple till 1988. He had to struggle to keep the temple going. These struggles cannot be described in these pages. Only those who saw the times know them. My father went through extreme financial troubles almost throughout his life after this temple was founded. However, he never left his dedication and kept worshipping in the temple throughout a period of 44 years without swerving from his devotion.
