His Guru’s Temple
In 1988, the devotees of Shree Das Kisan Maharaj (younger brother disciple of my father), whose story shall appear later, built a proper temple at the same site. My father’s final task was done and immediately after this, my father left his body, while I was in New Zealand (cf:His Family Life). The fully built temple stands now at the bottom of Parvati Hills. Only a person with total dedication, devotion and realization can be patient for the task to be completed after 44 years.
It may be appropriate to describe the story of how the above temple was re-built in 1988. But, before that one should know the story of Das Kisan Maharaj, a brother disciple of my father.
Das Kisan was a merchant who sold caps in a small shop very close to my father’s dwelling in 1940s. My father used to wear caps at that time and frequently visited Das Kisan’s shop. Das Kisan was very impressed by my father and also with the fact that Krishnanatha Maharaj had blessed my father. He requested my father to introduce him to Krishnanatha Maharaj. My father agreed to help and pleaded with Maharaj to accept Das Kisan as a disciple. Krishnanatha Maharaj accepted this request and blessed Das Kisan with the Spiritual Realization. In the course of time, Das Kisan became spiritually realized. He moved to Mumbai. He was a good singer and therefore many a devotees of Sai Baba were attracted to him. Ms. Damayanti Mahadadalkar (Taiji) of Girgaon, Mumbai, became his disciple and received a deep understanding of the Bhakti path from him. His devotees helped my father to build the temple at Parvati, Pune in 1988. This story is described next.
