“Okay, guys, it looks like we have six objectives that can be surprised,” he announced. “The problem is we only have the re- sources for two. One is a manufacturing point, and Corin’s rook is the other. Plan for a raid on these two locations on this map. Accord- ing to intelligence, these are the diagrams on each location.”
“Say, isn’t that the place on Boxwood that blew up when we hit it before?” Marcus asked.
“Yep,” but the real one is underground. That’s why we came up empty handed last time we went in. This time we have the location of the entrances and exits above ground, unlike last time. For those of you who are not coordinating, catch an hour or so of sleep somewhere. We pull out all the stops on this one.”
Slam! The front door closed followed by swift footsteps. Si- enna ran down the hallway searching and then saw her father cross the hall.
“Daddy!” she shouted, walking up and hugging Seige teary eyed. Seige held her realizing how quickly he was losing her to womanhood.
“I know, honey. I know it wasn’t your fault. I loved them just as much as you did but there was nothing you could do. I’m glad they didn’t take you too.
“They tried to kill me too, Dad, But mom and Visara saved me.”
“Mom?” It is a surprise to hear you say that like you mean it. I’m glad you realize that your mother truly loves you and will be there for you. She is something else. Isn’t she?”
“You think I’m just another pretty face,” Jennifer teased, ap- proaching Seige and trying to smile with tears forming in her eyes. “Come here,” he said holding his arm out to her. I know what you are going through. It’s the kind of loss that we won’t fully recover from. And even though it will change us forever, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. “Now listen both of you,” they held him,” I’m going to have to leave you in hiding a bit longer because we’re dealing with some pretty nasty people,
