the room heading for their comrade. The first one ran into the room toward the far side of the bed as Visara started giving orders. Suddenly, she froze. Both men turned their gaze from Visara to their fallen comrade only to see his eyes open star- ing into darkness. They frantically tried to revive him with every effort they could bring to bear. They only gave up when their energy was spent. Steve was dead. Seige came into the room.
“Leave us,” he said. Seige knelt beside his teammate his face expressionless.
He thought to himself: “This is only a child, Lord. He was a good person fighting for right and good. I know there is nothing I can say that would bring him back, but I sincerely hope that whatever he has done in the past is not so overpowering that he can’t be with you. I haven’t known him very long, but if his past has been anything like his performance with the team, he is wor- thy. I guess the reason we feel so powerless during death is because we really are. Thank you Lord, for waiting until the end of his days, to judge him. I’m glad you exercise that power.”
Twenty minutes later, Seige left the room. The entire team knew what had to be done and started without any words being spoken. They had moved the deceased from the cabin and were in the process of leaving as Seige left the cabin last. The rest of the team looked at the boss as if he was deceased and not want- ing to say a word for fear it would be wrong. The drive away from the cabin was quiet.
