  2. Establish a positive work environment.
• Promote frequent communication among office team through meetings, open office design, and open door policy.
• Create a climate of trust, openness, and respect for each other and their ideas.
• Create enthusiasm and energy; make the work fun.
• Create an environment where the office employees have an impact on decisions and activities that affect their jobs and the team.
3. Develop team members.
• Mentor and develop office employees to advance through career tracks.
• Give immediate feedback to office employees.
• Have team members participate in the hiring process of new team members.
• Cross-train office employees to back up other team members and director to keep up with pace of office activities.
• Look for ways to develop business, operational and clinical skills in team mem- bers.
• Provide opportunities for group training, development sessions, and inservices.
• Create a buddy system; a partner or mentor will:
• be a peer support
• develop and strengthen team relationships
• improve success rates in training
• provide the maximum possible support to his peer while he is away from his work area for a particular period of time
• improve customer service and better manage the team’s time
• coach and lead by example.
• Set goals, plan, and evaluate.
• Lead team in setting and monitoring goals.
• Goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time
based (SMART goals)
• Goals should be understood and committed to by all team members.
• Hold office employees accountable for meeting goals. • Conduct strategic planning for growth.
